I’m originally from Rapid City, SD. I moved to California right after high school to play Division 1 soccer at San Jose State University. Needless to say, my aspirations of being a professional soccer player were short-lived. During college I picked up SCUBA diving, and I became an instructor. I moved to Grand Cayman after college, and spent almost 4 years living the “Jimmy Buffet” life. I have safely completed over 10,000 recreational dives, and hundreds of “technical/decompression” dives, never once suffering a dive-related injury. I also logged enough sea-time to have sat for, and passed, a USCG Master Captains Exam, and for a number of years before law school, I carried that license. I originally went to law school to practice environmental law, but quickly realized that the only way for a baby lawyer to pay their bills in that area of law is to work for the bad guys, so I made the shift to Plaintiff’s work, and that’s all I do. I live in Santa Cruz, CA and along with coaching my sons’ soccer team, I try to spend as much time as I can surfing and riding bikes with my wife and my 2 kids.
