I grew up on a horse ranch in California where we supplied over 1100 horses to Girl Scout camps and dude strings throughout California. I had the opportunity to provide horses for the film industry and drove actors and public figures in horse-drawn carriages in parades throughout the Los Angeles area. Accustomed to hard work I attended law school at night at the University of Laverne College of Law. Fun fact, Nicholas Rawley was a classmate at Laverne. I am the first in my family to attain college and postgraduate degrees.
I began my legal career representing claimants before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, EEOC and DFEH. I then moved into public service for the County of Riverside as a Deputy Human Resources Director and then Administration for the Public Defender’s Office. Later I worked as a defense attorney for Farmers Insurance Group of companies where I was promoted into a leadership role as a Supervising Division Attorney overseeing civil litigation and workers’ compensation claims for California. I am currently the Managing Attorney of ZA Lawyers, a Workers’ Compensation practice group with Michael Alder of AlderLaw.
I have three amazing children and a big lazy dog named Kevin (who we love very much). My husband, a recently retired Captain for LAFD, and I own and operate a small cherry orchard in Bigfork, Montana where we plan to retire in the future.
