I am the daughter of immigrants who came to the USA after the Iranian revolution. My family is Assyrian, not to be confused with Syrian or Iranian. We are descendants of the ancient Assyrian Empire. Unfortunately, we don’t have a country, but ancient Assyria traces back to northern Iraq. I recently got to visit Iraq and it was a life changing experience to say the least.
Despite having no lawyers in my family, I knew I wanted to be a lawyer since second grade. I was high school speech and debate captain, I did high school mock trial, college speech and debate, and law school mock trial. I vividly remember doing one of our competitions in high school at the local courthouse and I knew that there is where I belonged. There was never a Plan B. Plan A was always becoming a trial lawyer.
I moved to Los Angeles for law school and have been here for nine years now. It’s my favorite city in the world. I enjoy the beach, hiking, Barry’s Bootcamp, finding new restaurants in the city and I am always in search of a new legal show-recently it’s Presumed Innocent. I joined PSR as a summer clerk and have been here ever since obtaining justice for personal injury and sexual
abuse clients. It’s a privilege to do what I do.
