I was born and raised right next to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. My family is “L.A.” through and through. I come from a long line of sea captains and long shoreman from the port of San Pedro. Growing up, the Academy Awards was a cherished holiday, the Lakers and Dodgers were always on the TV, and when the sun was out, we were at the beach. Early in childhood, I became fascinated with history and decided to attend college at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. with the dream of becoming a U.S. history professor. During college, I worked as a Congressional Intern for Adam Schiff and then as an intern for then-California Assemblymember Mike Feuer. My early participation in government raised questions in me about the often-conflicting ideas of individual rights and the role of government in our system of justice. I went to law school at UC Law San Francisco (formerly Hastings College of the Law). In my first year of law school, I was a law clerk at Panish Shea & Boyle where I had the opportunity to work on a trial that got a $20 million jury verdict. I loved the idea of being able to stand up for your clients’ rights in court. Over 10 years later, I’m still working at Panish | Shea | Ravipudi LLP and excited for the next trial!
