I was born and raised in Santa Monica, California. I grew up spending most of my time in the water, surfing up and down the coast for the oldest surf club in California–the Malibu Surfing Association. With members like Gidget and Miki Dora, I fell in love with the surf culture and protecting our historic beaches from pollution. I joined the Surfrider Association and became part of a grassroots campaign called “Clean Water at the Bu.” After gathering signatures at the beach, we handed them off to a group of lawyers who successfully campaigned to get the city of Malibu off of Septic Tanks and into a centralized wastewater management system. Through that firsthand experience, I realized that the law is the only true means for achieving meaningful social change. And it was then that I knew in my heart that I wanted to become a lawyer. After graduating from Loyola Law School in 2014, I met a trial attorney by the name of Nick Rowley. Maybe you’ve heard of him. From then on, it’s been a roller coaster of a ride learning everything I know from one of the best to ever do it. In addition to California, I am now licensed in Iowa and have tried cases throughout the country. I am no stranger to the impact negligence can have on a person’s life. My Dad was killed in a rear- end car crash in 2020. The magnitude of this loss is still difficult for me to put into words. Suffice it to say that the experience is something that I always carry with me and it serves as extra motivation whenever I step inside a courtroom.
