I grew up in Cheboygan, Michigan, which is a tiny town in the northern lower peninsula. I grew up on a Christmas tree farm, surrounded by water and acres of land. I showed horses and pigs, and played soccer and basketball. I went to college at Alma College, and law school at Michigan State University College of Law. I have only practiced personal injury. I worked for one law firm before my now-partner and I left to start Christensen Law 8 years ago. I have three children, ages 7, 5, and (not quite) 3. My life was significantly rocked when my youngest son began having seizures at 4.5 months old, and had a hemispherectomy (removal of half the brain) when he was 9 months old. I am very active in the epilepsy community, and just joined the board of the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan. I continue to play soccer, and picked back up with riding hunter jumpers two years ago. I recently started playing tennis, though I don’t even know the rules yet. I’m also very good at euchre, but apparently that’s just a Midwest thing.
