Damages House is an innovative damages model that uses reliable storytelling tools and universal imagery to concretize the abstract concept of pain and suffering for you, your client, your judge, and the jury. As a result, both you and the jury will be able to monetize more easily the things in life that do not come with a price tag. The creator of the “Damages House” damages model will show you how to build, furnish, and present your damages house. This method has already helped people assign hundreds of millions and even billions of dollars to the things in life that do not come with a price tag, all while tracking the law. The method works with any size case.
Part 1: Introduction to Damages House
Christy Childers will discuss the shortcomings of traditional damages models, introduce the concept, and highlight the benefits of Damages House.
Part 2: Build your House
She will discuss the foundation for your house, which is the MUSE method. The ultimate goal of the MUSE method is to create juror epiphanies through the use of universal images and good storytelling techniques. Christy will explain the method and show you how to build your own house using your state’s law.
Part 3: Furnish your House
Christy will show you how using Damages House helps your clients better verbalize their suffering. Once we have collected these stories, we use basic storytelling tools to map our plot, before casting our characters that will fill the rooms of our house. Demonstratives she calls the “Family Timeline” will be discussed and she will share how this integrates with the Damages House framework. Finally, she will teach you how to bulletproof your plot with plot defenders.
Part 4: Present your House
Christy will model the method being presented in Opening Statement, Direct Examination, and Closing. She will discuss use of the method in depositions, mock trials, focus groups, and mediation. She will share the verbiage used in a big data focus group and feedback from the 300 people surveyed. She will also share wisdom from trial consultants who have weighed in on best practices for the presentation of Damages House.
