Marrying Big Data to Traditional Focus Groups: Approaches and Analysis from 7-, 8-, and 9- Figure Verdicts

In 2022, CSG’s trial team obtained a $100 million verdict on behalf of a paralyzed man and his wife, which was the largest verdict in Connecticut history.

For the first time we have the ability to predict jury verdict outcomes with accuracy thanks to big data analytics. Big data allows trial lawyers to understand win rates, develop juror profiles, and identify the Goldilocks Zone. But Big Data is a strong compliment rather than a replacement for “traditional focus groups.” The two should be used in tandem to maximize success.
